Specialist Surveys & Assessments

What are specialist surveys?

Surveys of specific taxonomic groups are sometimes required which need experienced specialist skills in order to successfully identify the target group.

Targets of these surveys include, but are not limited to, aquatic plants, lichens, fungi, and moths.

When do I need to get in touch?

Specialist surveys are usually recommended following a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal / Extended Phase 1 Habitat Survey or can be requested by Local or Statutory Authorities.

However, if you know you require a specialist survey that is not listed as a specific service then get in touch and we can discuss your options and provide you with a free quote.

How can EcoNorth Help Me?

We have a wide range of experience when it comes to surveys, however, when very specific specialist knowledge is needed we have a vast network of dedicated experienced ecologists that we can call upon through the Wildlife Trust Consultancies partnership. Whether we have in-house knowledge or call upon a colleague, EcoNorth is able to assist with specialist species surveying and assessment.

Timing is specific with surveys such as these so it’s best to get in touch early to avoid missing the survey season.
