EcoNorth’s GCN and Bat Training Events 2020 – POSTPONED

EcoNorth's Bat Training Sessions 2021

Update on EcoNorth’s GCN and Bat Training Events

Following the most recent government and industry guidance on the Covid-19 / Coronavirus pandemic, EcoNorth has taken the decision to postpone the great crested newt and bat survey training events scheduled for 24 and 31 March 2020 respectively.  The health and wellbeing of our staff, subcontractors and clients is of paramount importance to us.  We therefore feel it would be irresponsible to proceed given the large numbers of people who typically attend, which would unnecessarily increase the chances of spreading the infection or putting individuals at risk.  We hope to be able to reschedule the training over the coming months and will be in touch with new dates as soon as possible.

Due to the nature of much of our fieldwork, we are continuing to complete surveys involving small numbers of people, which typically occur in less populated areas, while applying a range of additional precautions.  We may therefore be in touch in due course with surveyors who are already registered to work with EcoNorth, or with additional surveyors where we feel there are opportunities to train on specific tasks.

Please feel free to get in touch with us via Ben Smurthwaite, Survey Organiser, at surveys@econorth.co.uk if you require any further information.
