EcoNorth’s Bat Training Session 2022 – Moved to Wednesday 20 April

Bat

EcoNorth’s 2022 bat training session is being held on Wednesday 20 April. Please feel free to come along if you are new to surveying and would like to get ahead of the game and meet some of the EcoNorth team, or are a returning surveyor who would like to get back up to speed.

The bat training session will start at around 20:00hrs and run to approximately 22:30hrs. It will take place at Carlisle Park, Morpeth. The meeting location will be Elliott Footbridge by Morpeth Leisure Centre, New Market, Morpeth, ME61 1PR. There is plenty of free parking available here.

The EcoNorth team will run through basic bat identification and survey methodology. We will show attendees how to use EcoNorth’s recording forms and bat recording equipment, and answer any questions that are raised. We will also walk around a range of habitats with bat detectors, so attendees should get a chance to hear a number of bat species at the start of the season.

We politely request that attendees take a lateral flow test prior to joining the training session. Please do not attend if you test positive.

The bat training is not mandatory but is recommended for newcomers and those who feel it would help. If you are interested in attending EcoNorth’s bat training session and/or undertaking bat surveys for EcoNorth this season, please contact our Survey Organiser, Alex Douglas, at alex.douglas@econorth.co.uk.
