The Wildlife Trust Consultancies’ 2026 Conference and AGM

WTC Annual Conference and AGM

Annual Conference and AGM

In February, a small team of EcoNorth staff attended the Wildlife Trust Consultancies (WTC) annual conference and AGM. John Thompson (Executive Director), Fiona Muir (Senior Ecologist), Tom Johnson (Strategic Ecologist) and Ellesse Janda (Ecologist) ventured south to London to meet their colleagues from across the country.

Held in the oasis of London Wildlife Trust’s Camley Street Nature Reserve, the event brought together around 70 representatives from the WTC network. Key updates were shared from the AGM by Gabrielle Graham (WTC Chair) and Mel Huggins (WTC Secretary), including an open-floor discussion to explore the challenges and opportunities in the current ecological consultancy sector, followed by strategic insights from Emma Price-Thomas (Head of Corporate Partnerships). We also linked live into the Wildlife Trust’s Town Hall virtual event, presented by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.

The day provided a fantastic opportunity to network with colleagues, both new and old, and learn from the wide range of amazing presentations, from arboriculture to marine work, delivered throughout the day. The highlight of the event was the afternoon workshop session which focused on team building, problem solving and fostering collaborations between multiple WTC, allowing us to consider how collaborations between teams on large projects could work most effectively in the future.

We look forward to the WTC’ 2027 annual conference and AGM!

The WTC Network

The WTC comprises a group of 24 local consultancies delivering terrestrial and marine ecological services, landscape architecture, arboriculture and habitat management services across the UK and Ireland.

As a member of the WTC, EcoNorth is affiliated with Northumberland Wildlife Trust (NWT); we are perfectly positioned to provide NWT with professional, high quality ecological advice and practical support, as well as a substantial portion of our annual profits which are reinvested back into NWT to support their valuable conservation projects being implemented around the North East, all of which contributes to the ongoing achievement of our corporate social responsibility objectives.
